About Me

 I am currently the Environmental Studies Specialist at the American School in London.  I teach most of my classes for kindergarten - 4th grade students at the garden and playing fields located north of ASL in Canons Park. During the 2014-15 school year I had the privilege of working as the head of the Elementary Science Curriculum development team in the Learning Design Group at the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley. Before that for seven years I worked as the science specialist in the Lower School at the American School in London. Earlier in my career,  I spent almost 20 years living and teaching on the island of Hawaii both at the university level in marine science and then K-12 education. .   I have been fortunate to be able to work with some wonderful teachers and curriculum developers and I decided to start this blog to share some ideas, resources and information with other science teachers, parents and anyone involved or interested in innovation in science education.
